Intro

Phloem is a project to design a decentralised protocol for use in energy management. The times it would be useful would be:

• Load management: Using electricity at the right times. For cost or availability reasons.
• Energy resource discovery: Finding the available electricity generators and electricity storage mechanisms
• Predicting shortfalls: Given the predicted load, stored energy and generating capability, do you need to provide additional generating capability to meet demand

Depending upon funding it might be developed for a number of different scenarios. There would be commonalities between the software, but hardware might be different.

• Space station or colony energy management
• Prosumer (consumers of electricity that produce) control of equipment on earth
• Micro grid scenarios
